"Music can have such a powerful positive influence on a person’s life and I hope to help students discover this and ultimately instil a lifelong love and appreciation of music. Studying music is something that I have been incredibly passionate about for most of my life; it has brought me so much joy and has enriched my life to an extent that nothing else has. Passing this on to others and helping them to discover the world of music is one of my primary goals.

I believe that every student has some level of musical ability. I aim to help them find the key to unlock it and enable them to reach their full potential as musicians. I aspire to create a nurturing learning environment where students feel comfortable to express themselves.

Throughout my career as a pianist and a teacher, I have been inspired by many of my wonderful teachers. I have learned important lessons from each of them; lessons not only about music but about life. If I can inspire my own students as I have been in the past, I know that learning music can be enjoyable and extremely rewarding. The quality of a teacher-student relationship is very important and directly affects the student’s learning. I treat each of my students with respect and expect the same in return, creating a healthy relationship focused on learning.

I do not adhere to one single method of teaching. Through my years of experience and study of pedagogy at the university level I have found that each and every student learns in their own unique way. I combine a variety of different styles and schools of teaching to create my own unique and dynamic style, focused on the specific needs of each student. I love the challenge of discovering each student’s individuality and tailoring their lessons to best suit them. With the right guidance, each and every student can excel."
